Qualification
We primarily focus on project that have a direct impact on dholes research, conservation, awareness and education. Primary focus is for projects working in the dhole range country with preferences given to countries with less study and IUCN reputation. We do also help fund and support efforts outside range countries in the way of Ex-situ research in captive dholes, education programs and awareness in the way of World Dhole Day.
|
- Projects must be dhole focused or benefit dholes in some way.
- For field based research preference is given to countries where dhole research is lacking and basic ecology on dholes could benefit population modeling.
- New research techniques that benefit dholes does not have the limitations of the point above.
- Conservation funding preference is for dhole conflict resolution or preservation of land that does not have a "flag ship" species to aid in protection (elephants, tigers, leopards).
- Awareness and education preference is given to range country location or to those that could have a global (more then three country) impact.
- We do allow funds to be used for equipment, fuel, stipends and travel if written into the original ask and application. Adjustments for this after the fact will be denied.
- Reporting: We appreciate reporting a year after the funds are granted. Reports allow us to go back to funders and show the work that has been done.
We have a limit on funding. We are a small organization and although we try to fund most qualified projects that apply, we cannot guarantee funding for everyone. Our ability to give to project is based purely off of donations and foundation/grant giving that we are qualified for.
Dates and Deadline
Although applications for funding will be accepted all year long, the board will meet twice a year to discuses and choose which projects to support. This is different from past years to allow for all projects to get an equal look and make sure that projects have an better understanding of when they will.
